Tests and Revisions
In geometry we took a test over the chapter we’d just learning in our textbooks. The purpose of it is to see how much we have retained from the most recent lesson. We take these tests every time we finish a chapter in our math textbooks. We take the test almost as soon as we finish the chapter, this way by the time we take the tests we are familiar with the information. Tests are worth a large percent of the grade so we are allowed to revise if we get a bad grade. These tests are always hard which means that studying for them is a must. It’s no secret that my studying habits haven’t always been the best, but this year out of necessity I’ve drastically changed my habits. It hasn’t been easy but I’m still working on it. I overcame this challenge by studying every day the week before a test and making sure the night before that I went over all the class work that would help me prepare for the test. Most of the time I’m fairly pleased with my score but every now and then I don’t do so well. When this unfortunate event occurs I simply revise for a 100% which actually isn’t all that simple because I have to correct all of the problems that I missed and I have to explain why I was wrong in detail. Thankfully I don’t have to don’t miss that many questions which is all due to the studying that I have trained myself to do. Learning how to study has really done a lot to help me understand the topics we are covering in class. This skill is going to help me a lot in the future. Especially in college. The first artifact that I would use to show my growth is one of the tests I took and the other artifact would be the revisions that I made. I think these artifacts would do the best job of showing my thought process and how studying has helped in terms of being able to answer problems and figure out how to fix a problem that I originally got incorrect.
