9th Grade

I think that the amount of effort I put into my schoolwork has grown greatly. For most of this year I slacked off, but towards the end I realized that if I wanted to be successful I was going to have to work as hard as possible. I have a clear image of what I want my future to be like, and the only way I’m going to achieve my goals is if I stay focused and do the best work I can. The DRSS qualities are persistence, inquiry, collaboration, communication, and creativity. We are taught to utilize these qualities in the work we do. Lately I’ve been trying to use all of them when I’m doing schoolwork. When I study I use inquiry and when I’m doing homework I use persistence. I had to put them most effort into math class. Math isn’t my best subject, but I recognize that it is important that I understand it. The unit we did with generic rectangles and algebra tiles was something I struggled with a lot. Even when I understood what I was doing it still took me double the time everyone else took. I had to work extra hard at math even though I didn’t really want to. I am very glad with the changes I’ve decided to make because I know longer feel ashamed of the work that I’ve done, in fact I’m very proud of my academic growth this year.
