Collaboration

Collaboration is all about working together. Whether you’re working together on a project or you're helping someone jump start their car you're almost always practicing collaboration. When we help people or ask others for help we are working together to solve a problem and really that's all collaboration is. In its simplest form collaboration is helping others. It sounds easier than it is though. Sometimes collaborating on a project can be trying but you have to do it because whether or not you want to admit it we all could use a little help. At STEM group work shows up everywhere, most of the project that we do are group projects. One of these projects was the Civil War board game project that we did in eighth grade. At first this project sounded easy, all we had to do was create a board game that educated users about the Civil War. My group aimed a little to high and we ended up taking on a

project that was a bit too amibtious. In the end it turned out ok because we created a great game, but for a while there it was touch and go. We really had to rely on one another and work as a team. This project taught me about collaboration because I had to do my best to help my group members as well as learn how to trust them. I think that's one of the hard parts of collaboration becasue you have to know when to give help and when to recieve it.
